Day 1 of the Romney bus tour kicks off in the Old Dominion State where Romney hopes to capitalize on the recent WTOP poll showing Romney competitive in heavily populated Northern Virginia:
On Saturday Mitt Romney will start a four-state bus trip. The first stop will be in Virginia where the presumptive republican nominee for president will make 4 campaign appearances, the last one in Manassas at 4:15 pm. Tickets are needed for the events. For more information click here.
This is a list of the locations and times for Gov. Romney’s visit to the Commonwealth:
- 8:45 am: Governor Romney Tours USS Wisconsin, Norfolk, Virginia
- 9:05am: Governor Romney Attends Norfolk Victory Rally at the Nauticus Museum. Doors open to the public at 7:45am for this event.
- 12:50pm: Governor Romney Drops By Homemades by Suzanne in Ashland, Virginia. He also makes remarks outside the business, doors open at 11:30am.
- 4:15pm: Governor Romney Attends Manassas Victory Rally at the Harris Pavilion on Center Street. Doors open to the public at 2:45pm.
This bus tour starts just 17 days before the Republican National Convention begins in Tampa, Florida. All eyes are on who Romney will pick for his Vice-Presidential running mate. Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell has been named as a possible choice for Romney. When asked about the possibility earlier this week in Dale City, McDonnell was non-committal.
