Have you guys noticed the on-line ads showing up when you click on posts?

They’re not supposed to be there but if wordpress is going to spam my readers with their crap ads I’m going to make then pay me for them while they take them down. If I could move the site immediately I would. I highly doubt this is an “accident” since they have bugged me before about putting ads on the site. Wanted to know what you are seeing. Thanks

UPDATE: I’m seeing a lot of “no” responses. I just want to make certain we are talking about the same thing.

In this post below:
http://battlegroundwatch.com/2012/11/03/oh-marist-you-scamp-obama-wins-36-of-37-battleground-polls/

Words like “press releases” at the end of the first paragraph, and words like “survey” and “sample” in the Ohio paragraph all get a double-underline causing pop-up ads to show up if my cursor runs over them.

Is that just me? And as one commenter says may be a function of spyware?

    Nope. Haven’t seen any.

Any ideas for the website after Tuesday??

It’s great and you should be very proud of yourself. How about “Romney Watch”…

Good idea, Rick. This site should continue to remain online. Of course, not sure if Keith has the time to manage it after the election. One of the best informative sites for those who has been following the election.

I’m not seeing any ads. The undo and redo commands in the editor don’t work correctly tho.

The mobile version has no ads at least in my case. Most of the time I am on horseback when I read your site (job thing) and ads really pi** of the horse so that’s a good thing! šŸ™‚

Haven’t see any yet, thankfully. Them bugging you is a good sign – they see the amount of traffic you’re generating!

I see repeated ads attacking a local state senate candidate who is a conservative. You can communicate with me if you wish Keith. Your blog is awesome!

I think someone just needs to get rid of some spyware/malware.

If true any advice? Coincidentally I ran malwarebytes last night.

Yeah, just run that (full scan, however). If you’re still not sure, you can run a full scan with other free software, such as Ad-Aware or Spybot: Search & Destroy. It is time consuming, but that will pretty much catch all of them. (Anything these don’t catch will require serious IT help–i.e., someone proficient with HijackThis.)

Thanks. I’m downloading Microsoft Security essentials now but will run Spybot: Search & Destroy and Ad-adware. if that doesn’t work.

By the way, if things are not terrible now, you might just want to wait until after the election to change things on your system. It would be utterly lame to make some serious error during this busy time that affects your ability to post to the site or some such thing.

No ads. I have pop-ups disabled and I don’t know if that makes a difference in this case, but I have seen no ads as a result of visiting your site. Thanks for your analysis.

I have never seen an ad here and wondered why. Run a few ads Mr Backer, it wouldn’t hurt anyone.

No haven’t seen any popups. Just like to say thanks for your hard work this election season. You’ve done a great job w/ facts & data not with a super duper model machine. Glad you still have your home too.

It’s clearly spyware on your machine. Try f-secure, it’s a really good antivirus which I’ve used. But I also think you SHOULD put Adwords and make some money for all the great work you’ve done.

peekinthewell.net/blog had php code that was causing popups. You might want to check out his posts (He knows his stuff.) It didn’t show up on all computers, sort of like what you are talking about here.
