D+4, Romney double digit lead among Indies, NM included in the Blattle ground states…
Battleground poll is D+9, not sure of the mix in NPR, but I doubt it could be that high and D+5 more than the national mix. Gallup does not even have the national at D+4. NPR would love nothing more than to see Romney defeated – they don’t want to lose their govt. subsidies.
National sample was D+4, 35/31/34, battleground state sample is D+9, 40/31/27. Notice they cannibalized the indies to give to the Dems. And even with that they still only get O to a 4-point lead.
The NPR definition of “Battleground” includes Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Mexico which would seem to also tip the results in favor of Obama as all three states are generally considered more Obama friendly.
True, but I think Ras has PA and MI in his battleground state group – but not NM.
NM as a battleground state is new (to me anyway). Places I’ve seen have had that solidly in 0’s camp.
Since when does NPR weigh in with a poll? This is the first time I’ve seen their name associated with a poll. When was their last? Suddenly every one wants to commision a poll. NPR not only is federally funded but their viewership is heavily liberal leaning. That probably translates into a dem leaning poll. You’re probably better off asking Big Bird.

Rassmussen was updated today with Romney still up 49/47 BUT he usually has detaited info for premium members by 9am and there is no update. I wonder if he had limited data for yesterday.

But, the amazing thing is that your work has attracted the support of many excellent bloggers who also give great insights and information in addition to your own — so that the work is somewhat carried on even in your momentary absence. Me neither. I can’t recall ever seeing these kind of weather events hitting the east coast and NYC. These are weather patterns predicted by the warming earth community. We can debate the ultimate cause of earth’s warming all we want but the facts are these are weather patterns unlike anything the east coast has seen in recent times. Perhaps it will take decades more of record heat in summer and violent weather patterns like these to move the public sentiment meter from do-nothing to do-something but until then it’s not unreasonable to expect to see more of the same as polar caps melt and the earth warms. I’m sure the irony would not be lost on the conservative community should these storms change the outcome of this election (which I doubt). A global-warming event helping to defeat an anti-global-warming candidate, how positively scandalous. So far these storms have occurred with impeccable timing and have only helped democrats. Either way mother nature seems to insist on weighing in on this election, and in favor of the dem candidate.
1. New York has been overdue to be hit by a strong hurricane, maybe by decades.
2. There is not enough long-term weather data for these regions to know if the preceding decades were unusually moderate, and this is a less moderate pattern is due.
3. We can cut our carbon use to zero and go back to living in the 1850’s, and it won’t matter a damn. You know why? China and India will increase their carbon usage far beyond what we can cut.
4. It’s kinda sick and twisted to use this catastrophe to win an election. But they’ll try real hard to do it anyway.

I was sitting here switching through channels and stopped on MSNBC for a few seconds. It was 12pm, Alex Wagners show with Martin Bashir and 3 other liberal guests and they were absolutely slamming Romney showing him in Ohio at a victory center where he was encouraging people to make donations and they had set up for people to bring blankets and so on for relief efforts. This group on MSNBC claimed he was campaigning which he wasn’t and they were saying so many lies about him it made me sick. Then they went to praise the President and this would put him in the lead to win a second term because he can be the president at this time of crisis. Isn’t that his job??? Where was he when Americans were being slaughtered in Benghazi, oh wait, they didn’t cover it so it never happened. All this politizing this storm while people are in harms way makes me sick. I haven’t seen much of that on Fox or CNN but leave it to MSNBC to worship the One. What happened to being fair. The truth is over the weekend Romney’s campaign used it buses and victory centers to start preparing for the storm, used their buses and volunteers to help evacuate people. NO, he isn’t the president yet and he can’t do what the sitting president can but he has proved himself worthy of the office. He sat aside campaigning before Obama did. You don’t hear news outlets pointing that out. If people only had a few channels to get their news a Republican would never get elected. I also will say that Gov. Christie went a little overboard in his praise for Obama yesterday and today. The president and the Fed. Govern. should be doing their job but Christie basically threw Romney out to sea. He was very rude to Romney and this goes to show just how quickly people forget what’s been done to our country over the 4 years. All Christie had to say was the Federal response was going fine and praise workers for doing their jobs. Wow, he changed over night. will not have much respect for him any longer. I know his state is facing a major disaster but to be so blatant in his praise for Obama when Obama should be doing his job was way overboard for Christie. It also gave ammunition for the left to play over and over again on TV which is exactly what MSNBC was doing. MSNBC actually said that Christie was switching sides and basically endorsing Obama and turning on Romney. I will say this, the media had been planning to make this week about Obama’s comeback but the storm stopped that for now but they will use this storm to make Obama way more that he really is. Won’t be surprised if the media and Obama’s campaign use this to win the election. They will use this to make people think Obama is bi-partisan and he deserves a second term for his handling of the storm although it’s the local and state govern.’s that have their work cut out for them. Obama can send money and FEMA but we all pay for those services. I would say in my humble opinion this will change the momentum of this election. By the weekend the media will have done their job turning this election for Obama. I don’t think Romney has a chance now. He basically has his hands tied since he can’t do anything because he’s not the President and the media will drive that home relentlessly. Be prepared for an Obama second term because the media will make sure it happens. Also, if Obama feels like he may lose, then they try to extend the election or do something to declare Marshall Law or whatever else they can come up with to win.
