About that Enthusiasm Gap…The Shrinking Obama Crowds

We blogged the comedy of the Obama campaign previously claiming their small crowds were on purpose.  Now the press are saying even the small Obama crowds are likely an exaggeration:

Obama is rallying today in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Federal Court of New York just ruled the Defense of Marriage Act signed by Clinton and whose defense of the law Obama’s Justice Department pulled has just been ruled unconstitutional. So this basically paves the way for gay marriage in one state to be reciprocated in other states. This will be good for Obama’s base as they will champion his defense of gay rights. However, this will be even bigger fodder for Romney’s base and the that independent middle that polls overwhelmingly anti-gay marriage.

For the record, I have no issue with gay marriage believe it to be a state issue and not a federal issue.

Gallup: Romney 52% Obama 45%…very nice.

But for what is supposedly a Republican advantage we will call this probably more like a 2-3 point race

This is all Anecdotal of course….

But the pictures that I looked at from Obama’s visit in Mt Vernon Iowa show a Gym basketball court with a dividing curtian down when they were setting up. If you compare the pictures from different news sources, you can see, that curtain was still down during his speech. He only filled 50% of the gym. Why?!

Which begs the question, why did he fly into Cedar Rapids, drive 30 minutes east to go to a 1200 student private college, when Cedar Rapids has Kirkwood Community college with 25,000 students (where he’s been before), and two other private schools (Coe and Mt Mercy) each with around 2000 students. If he’s so popular, why? To me, it just doesn’t add up. I’m currious to know if this wasn’t a 2nd or 3rd option…
